2024 Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest Winners Announced!

The winners of the 2024 Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest have been revealed at Japan's Champions League, and the competition showcased some incredible talent. The prestigious Grand Prize, along with a $5,000 cash award, goes to Kazumi Minami from Japan. Kazumi's stunning artwork captured the essence of the Pokémon universe, impressing judges and fans alike.
Best Standard Card Illustration: Acorviart
The winner of the Best Standard Card Illustration is “Acorviart” from the United States, earning a $3,000 prize. Their unique style and creativity brought a fresh perspective to standard card designs, making it a memorable addition to the TCG.
Best ex Card Illustration: Anderson
Taking home $3,000 for Best ex Card Illustration is Anderson, another talented artist from Japan. Anderson’s vibrant and detailed illustration showcases the depth of the Pokémon world, making it a standout piece in the contest.
Promo Cards Coming Soon!
These promo cards are expected to be available at Pokémon Centers both in Japan and internationally. For fans in the U.S., similar promo releases are anticipated on the English Pokémon Center websites, with details on how to obtain them expected soon. For reference, during the 2022 contest, fans had to apply for a code to receive promo cards with purchases over $30.

The theme for this year’s contest was “Magical Pokémon Moments,” inviting artists from Japan, the United States, the U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to showcase their creativity. Each winner was also presented with a special trophy featuring Charizard, a beloved icon in the Pokémon franchise.
